Shipping Information

 

Below you will find The Bike Shop’s shipping information for all parcels shipped within Canada, to the USA, and internationally.

 

 

Free In-Store Pick Up

Many of the products on our site are located at our supplier’s warehouses, strategically located throughout Canada.  These items are labeled as “online inventory” and you will be notified of where the item is shipping from plus the lead time to have the product available for pick up in our store when you go through the checkout process.  We offer free in-store pick up for any of these products or any of the products from our bricks & mortar store purchased on our site.

  • We will email you when your order is ready for pickup
    • Please allow up to 24 hours for order processing. 
    • If you need your order the same day and have not yet received a confirmation email please call us and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
    • Head to our Sales Counter or engage any of our staff in helping you to pick up your order
    • Please come prepared with your order confirmation either in digital or printed format (on your phone is fine, please feel free to save a tree)
    • You will need to bring picture ID and provide a signature in order to collect your order

Please try to pick up your order within 7 business days or call our Online Customer Service Team to make alternate arrangements.  Orders not picked up within 30 days will be refunded back to you and returned to stock.

 

 

Free Shipping (Standard Ground)

  • On orders exceeding $300 in value, before taxes
  • Offer limited to website orders shipped Standard Ground with or without Signature within Canada, excluding NT, YT and NU.
  • Telephone orders do not qualify for free shipping (website only).
  • Orders must meet Canada Post size and weight restrictions (no dimension greater than 1m or weigh less than 30kg).  Oversized items, such as bikes will not qualify for free shipping.
  • Hazardous goods shipments are not eligible for free shipping.
  • At this time the Territories are excluded from free shipping programs.

 

 

Shipping within Canada

Orders are sent via Standard Post unless otherwise specified. Orders are insured in case of damage or loss. Most orders take one to two business days to process, in addition to the delivery times shown. Isolated and rural areas may take longer.

Bikes are exempt from this rate guide.  We are unable to ship bicycle units unless you are unable to locate your make and model of choice through your local dealer.  Bikes must be picked up at our retail location, The Bike Shop at 801 11th Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0E6 Canada.

 

*Shipping times are estimates only. All shipments are processed using the most optimal shipping provider for your order and ship out from our Calgary Bricks & Mortar store.  We deliver to remote areas in Canada, however, please note that your order will ship via Ground Shipping and may take up to 20 days to arrive. The shipment method of “Leave at Door” means your package will be left on your doorstep or delivered to your post office box. There is no liability offered with this service and The Bike Shop will accept no responsibility should your package be listed as delivered (via tracking number) but you can’t locate it. If you wish for a more secure delivery method, please select Signature Required.

 

Most orders will ship within 1–2 business days. Orders are subject to verification and approval before shipping and may take up to 48 hours to process. Though we do everything we can to ensure your order arrives on time, The Bike Shop cannot be held responsible for conditions beyond our control such as severe weather, service interruptions, etc. Orders are shipped on regular business days, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

Split Shipments

We do not offer split shipment options at this time. Upon receipt of all of your items within our building your order will immediately be processed for shipment and you will be updated with tracking information.  For items coming from our suppliers because these may come from multiple sources and areas of Canada all items for your order must be received in our Bricks & Mortar store before your order will be processed and shipped.

 

USA Shipments

All Shipments to the USA are processed using Canada Post or FedEx Ground/Express.  Rates are based on a minimum value of $35 plus extra charges based on the volumetric size of the package being shipped.

Orders shipped to the USA are not charged Canadian taxes; however, all orders pass through customs and are subject to import duties, taxes, and custom processing fees. A customs invoice will arrive with your parcel or may follow in the mail. Recipients are responsible for paying these additional fees.

 

The Bike Shop is unable to provide estimates for customs fees. Check with your local customs office for more information.

 


 

International Shipments

We love finding ways to get product into customer’s hands all over the world; however, there is no easy way to quote pricing for this so please email us with your inquiries and we would be happy to assist you in getting the product you are looking for.    

 

Rates are based on a minimum value of $35 plus extra charges based on the volumetric size of the package being shipped.  Orders going to international destinations are shipped by either Canada Post or FedEx.  Orders shipped outside of Canada are not charged Canadian taxes; however, all orders pass through customs and are subject to import duties, taxes, and custom processing fees. SUPPLIER DIRECT SHIPMENTS


Supplier Direct Product

Many of the product on our website is provided via a live feed from several of supplier’s.  This allows us to offer you thousands more options than we can possibly offer within our Bricks & Mortar location.

 

Stock Status Labels

There are several different product status labels that you will see on our site.  Below is a breakdown to help you understand where the product you are interested in is located and what kind of lead times you will see associated with these products.

 

Please note these stock status labels are for lead times for the product to arrive in our building.  Standard shipment times from our Shipping Policies page apply to all products after they have arrived in our building.

 

  • In Stock – This item is in our Bricks & Mortar location with free In-Store Pick-Up available and some great shipping options if you are shopping from another region. 
    • For In-Store Pick-Up please visit us at 801 11th Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2R0E6 to pick-up your order after you have received your email confirming your order is ready for pick-up.

 

  • TBS Warehouse – Fortunately for our customers we have a lot of bikes on hand all year round; however, all of those bikes do not fit into our Bricks & Mortar space so we move key bikes to our warehouse which is located within Calgary.  If your item’s status label reads TBS Warehouse you will be advised during the checkout process that your item will take a minimum of 24 hours to be picked from our warehouse and delivered to our store before it is prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or Shipment.

 

  • Supplier Based Warehouses – Please note the timeframes involved are to allow for the ordering and shipment of the product to our facility in Calgary.  Any times quoted for shipping to your location via the shipping methods are in addition to the time to get the product to our store.  Typical turnaround is 1-2 weeks before we have product in hand and ready for In-Store Pick-Up or shipment to your location:
    • Ships from Montreal – 3-5+ business days:
      • This product comes from a Montreal based supplier and will take 3-5+ business days to arrive in our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
  • Ships from Vancouver – 3 to 7+ business days:
    • This product comes from a Vancouver based supplier and will take 3-7+ business days to arrive on our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
  • Ships from Ontario – 6-9+ business days:
    • This product comes from an Ontario based supplier and will take 6-9+ business days to arrive on our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
  • Ships from Vancouver – 4-7+ business days:
    • This product comes from a secondary Vancouver based supplier and will take 4-7+ business days to arrive on our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
  • Ships from Ontario – 5-9+ business days:
    • This product comes from a secondary Ontario based supplier and will take 5-9+ business days to arrive on our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
  • Ships from USA Warehouse – 9+ business days
    • This product comes from a USA based supplier and will take 9+ business days to arrive on our store before it can be prepared for In-Store Pick-Up or shipping.
    • We apologize for any extended times with these orders but the time frame involved is to allow for the items to clear customs as well as travel from the US to CAD.

BACKORDERS

Occasionally, some items are unexpectedly out of stock or unavailable and may be backordered. If this should occur, we will only bill your credit card for merchandise that is actually shipped. The total shipping charge for orders split into multiple shipments will not exceed the amount quoted on the original order.

RETURNS

Returns

It’s our aim to provide a hassle free return service for you. If you’re not completely satisfied with an item, you may return it within 30 days from the date you pick up your order or the shipment date. Returned items must in new condition with accompanying receipt and packaging. Refunds will be issued back to you utilizing the same payment method you used to make your purchase with. All clear-out and sale items are final sale and are not eligible to return.

How Do I Process a Return?

To process your return, you can either bring it to our store or ship the item(s) back to us. We recommend you always use a service that offers a tracking number (we are not responsible for items lost during shipment back to our store.  You are responsible for the return shipment costs and shipments sent via COD will not be accepted.

 

Merchandise returned that appears used will be subject to a restocking fee.  Labour is non-refundable.

 

Orders Damaged in Shipping

All of the items that we ship are in new and un-used condition unless otherwise stated in their online product description. If a package is delivered to you in damaged condition you have the option of refusing or accepting delivery. If you choose to accept the damaged product, please contact us immediately and we will arrange for return shipment of the damaged item(s). Please try and leave the product and package in its original form from when you received it. This will assist our claim submission to the shipping company. We will do our best to make sure you get a duplicate item(s) in un-damaged condition as quickly as possible (subject to availability).

 

Incorrect Product (Us)

In the unlikely event that you receive your order and there is product(s) that do not match your order confirmation, or there are products missing from your order, please contact us immediately and we will get you the right product (subject to availability) as quickly as possible and arrange for return shipment of the incorrect item(s).

 

Incorrect Order (You)

We understand that shopping online can often be confusing and mistakes happen, particularly when it only takes the click of a button and the order you were mulling over was suddenly submitted. If it happens that you accidently chose the wrong size, colour or product we will gladly accept returns on all products up to 30 days after the order was placed. In these situations, the buyer will be responsible for return shipping costs (refer to Returns & How Do I Process a Return above).
