Break the rules

All-New Specialized Aethos 2

Specialized Aethos 2

Their lightest road bike yet, the Aethos 2 climbs, corners, and descends unbelievably fast. It wasn't built to chase medals, or conform to racing's rules. It was built to break the rules for the love of the ride.

Aethos 2 road bike breaks free for something higher. It’s a portal to the purest ride experience. When effort vanishes, the bike disappears, and body, mind, and machine move as one. And for a timeless moment, all is right in the world.

Specialized created their lightest road bike ever with the Aethos 2, weighing in at just 5.9kg. It's so light, it's technically a crime.

Specialized refined the Aethos model with updated geometry, equipped it with Roval Alpinist components, and made subtle but significant improvements that resulted in a bike that is more perfect for more riders.

  • Refined geometry for a better fit, supported by decades of body geometry fit data.
  • Increased tire clearance up to 35mm for more comfort, confidence, and versatility.
  • All-new Roval cockpit and wheels that are lighter, smoother, and fully integrated.

Geometry Updates

Together, these changes create that "in-the-bike" sensation: stable through corners, light at the bars, and easy on your shoulders.

• 15mm taller stack for more comfort and less pressure on your hands

• 3mm lower bottom bracket for a more planted feel in corners

• 7mm longer wheelbase for added stability at speed

• 0.5° slacker headtube for smoother control

More Tire Clearance

Up to 35mm of tire freedom, with no added weight.

More tire volume means smoother, faster rides, more grip, and access to more roads. Aethos 2 clears 35mm tires with ease, unlocking new versatility without sacrificing weight or feel. That kind of upgrade usually comes at a cost, but not here.

Aethos 2 FAQs

Specialized added 15mm of stack to most frame sizes, slackended the head tube angle by 0.5 degrees, and lowered the bottom bracket by 3mm. The 49cm frame gains 8mm of stack, and the 52cm gains 11mm. The result is a geometry that opens the Aethos experience to more riders while maintaining its lively, reactive road handling.
