Description

It's everything you love about the Vala, just a bit lighter. Same full-power Bosch motor, same dialed suspension. We swapped in a Fox 36 instead of a 38, put on lighter tires and wheels, and pored over the spec sheet to save grams throughout the build. The result? A bike that weighs up to a pound and a half less than the standard Vala. And because a lot of the savings come from the fork and wheels, you'll feel the difference every time you lift the front end to clear obstacles, every time you accelerate out of a turn, and every time you push a little bit harder through the techy bits of trail. It's not a new bike, it's a new way to ride a full-power ebike.

The Vala delivers precision and power—a true mountain biker's mountain bike. Santa Cruz's legendary ride quality paired with Shimano's flawless drivetrains and Bosch's Performance Line CX motor is a marriage made for the trailhead. Perfectly balanced, the Vala XT is the definitive EMTB. For Rides Of Exceptional QualityThe Vala is a full-power ebike that delivers precision and power. It’s made for riders looking for focused performance on the best trails. Perfectly balanced, refined suspension and the finest quality construction, as always.

Size Chart

Santa Cruz | Mountain

Size	Rider height (in)	Rider height (cm)
Small	5'1" - 5'5"	154cm - 165cm
Medium	5'5" - 5'9"	165cm - 175cm
Large	5'9" - 6'1"	175cm - 185cm
X-Large	6'1" - 6'4"	185cm - 193cm
XX-Large	6'4" - 6'7"	193cm - 200cm

If you're on the cusp between the recommended height range of two sizes, the absolute best thing is to try to ride them both. At a minimum, check the stack/reach measurements on your current bike and compare it to the new model you are looking at to get an idea of a fit you are already comfortable with. If riding the bike is not an option, consider the following.

A larger size frame will be more stable, and will give you more room to move without upsetting the weight-balance of the bike. The larger size will put the front wheel further in front of you, which gives the feeling of security and conversely, it will require more significant body movements when you WANT to shift the weight-bias of the bike. Think hard about your riding style and how active/intuitive you want it to be vs stable and speedy. You'll need to work a bit harder to muscle the larger bike around.

Not all bodies at a given height are the same. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average person your height, that may push you towards the smaller of the recommended sizes. If you're all torso and arms, most likely you'll want to size up.
